Making up missed Salah

Question:

If someone has missed so many salaah, it now seems very difficult or impossible to make up for, what should he/she do?

Answer:

It is obligatory (fard) to make up all missed salah regardless of the reason they were missed or the numbers of salah one has missed. Salah is the first thing we will be questioned about on the Day of Judgement. This shows the importance of Salaah.

Firstly a person must repent to Allah for missing any salah deliberately or out of negligence. Then one should estimate how many months or years he has missed salah since the age of puberty. He may perform one qadha salah before or after every fardh salah including three rakat of witr. Start by making an intention of the first salah he missed, e.g. first Fajr, first Zuhr, etc. When that is done the one after it will become the first, and so on. Doing that for the same amount of months/years that are missed, one can easily make up the missed salah. There is no need of doing qada for Sunah prayers.
